Move or Remodel?

Move or Remodel?

Move or Remodel?

To move, or to remodel? That is the question…

So, you have come to the point where you feel your home is just not doing it for you anymore. Whether its outdated appliances and cabinetry or not enough space, there are some questions you need to ask yourself before making the final decision.

Do you like where you live?

Is it this a good neighborhood? Can I make this my dream home? Will my kids miss living here?

If the answer to these questions is “yes.” Why leave? Take to heart the old adage that you can always fix a house, but you can’t fix a neighborhood.

Are the memories here too good to leave?

While it may seem that the grass is greener on the other side, why not plant some new grass!? Agree or not, we all have some emotional connection to the place we lived a part of our life in. Then ask yourself, “Is it time to make memories somewhere else, or should we let the good times roll!” Just keep in mind, expanding, renovating and adapting these homes are sure ways to keep that significance alive for future generations.

What’s best for my wallet?

When it comes to the most bang for your buck, you can take a few things into consideration. Why buy something new when you can transform your current space into exactly what you want? Are the bones of my house sustainable for what I want Can the investment in remodeling my current space potentially earn me money down the road?? Finally, how do I foresee the next 10 years of my life?

Determining whether to go or stay requires that you identify all of the costs, not just the construction costs, before making a decision.

In conclusion, there are many questions you should ask yourself before making before deserting your current property for another space. Take the time to make an educated decision and weigh your options.
